Phillip Matthews is a consultant helping individuals, teams and organisations towards higher performance.
Prior to establishing his own consultancy, Phillip occupied roles as President/CEO of the National College of Ireland (NCI), Director of Executive Education at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and Country Manager of Penna Consulting and Country Manager for Schering Plough’s Animal Health operations in Ireland.

As a former CEO himself, Phillip understands the particular challenges of organisational leadership and change. He works 1:1 with senior executives and with executive teams through his Executive Coaching and Executive Team Coaching practice. He is a member of IMI’s associate faculty where he delivers and programme directs their flagship Leadership Programmes and he designs and delivers leadership development programmes for his own private clients.
Phillip has held Board positions with both NCI and the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA) and a pro bono Board position with the North Wall Community Development project. He is a former captain of Ireland’s national rugby team, the Barbarian Rugby Club and a British & Irish Lion.
